Jeff Whitcomb, President
Strategic thinker. Branding evangelist. Copy editor. Family man. Jeff likes the CG family so much he’s worked here twice. His first go-around began in 1984 as a writer and AE; second time he signed on as President. In-between, Jeff did a tour of duty as Director of Marketing for Eastern Mountain Sports. Jeff leads CG business development efforts, serves as Account Supervisor for several clients, reviews creative work and keeps seven dinner plates spinning at all times. He holds a degree in Communications from Ithaca College.
Patience Merriman, Vice President, Creative Director
Versatile. Fast. Funny. And fiercely smart. With her boundless energy, attention to craft and sharp wit, Patience elevates any account she works on. Her ideas always express the essence of a brand. Her copy is as efficient as it is effective—as represented by her shelf of Addys and other awards. Before joining CG in 1998, Patience worked as a newspaper reporter, ran her own agency, and toiled in the copywriting cubicles at several Philadelphia ad agencies.
Jim Hickey, Vice President, Account Supervisor
Account service pro. Media planner. Copywriter. Jim's a triple-threat, with three powerful weapons in his advertising arsenal: Proactive, attentive account service skills. Prodigious writing talent. And real media expertise. Jim has written and produced memorable advertising for such clients as the Vermont Lottery, Bank One, Eastern Mountain Sports and Vermont National Bank, among others. He is on his second tour with CG, after leaving for a time to serve as Vice President and Director of Marketing for Westbank, (now part of New Alliance Bank). He holds a BA degree in English from the University of Massachusetts.
Kim Canon, Vice President, Managing Director
Designer. Problem solver. Senior strategist. Since 1982 Kim has given her outsized talents as an art director and designer to dozens of CG clients. Before that she worked at Ogilvy Mather in New York on clients including General Foods, Maxwell House, Pepperidge Farms and Schweppes. In all her work she marries eye-catching design with strategic sense. Kim's a valued member of our management team because she's not just a designer; she's a communicator.
Karen Hormel, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Financial maven. Number cruncher. Time cop. Karen has been with CG since the start, making sure all the time gets entered, all the accounts receivable are collected and all the bills get paid. It could be called a thankless job, except for the thanks she gets from every CG employee. Usually around payday.
